New York City: Paley Park and Other Great Spaces

paley

Hey guys, looking for a special spot to pop the question in NYC? My parents got engaged in this quaint "vest pocket" city park back in September 1970. Located on 53rd Street between Madison and Fifth Avenues,  Paley Park is praised as one of the smallest manageable urban parks, and was named a world's best by the Project for Public Spaces.

I think I'll propose a family field trip to visit the park, still going strong, just like my folks, after 35 years of marriage. (The park's actually been around a bit longer, since 1967.)  Reading the comments on the PPS page, it appears that dad was not the only one to pop the question in this perfect little park.

There are over 500 great places profiled in the PPS database, including a bunch from NYC. Here are a few special spaces from the list:

Battery Park City Esplanade
Brooklyn Botanical Garden
Liz Christy Garden
Harlem Meer
Wave Hil
