Cycling the Lewis & Clark Trail

Adventure CyclingA colleague of mine is biking the Lewis & Clark trail this summer, and her periodical emails to all of us back East are full of enthusiastic and vivid descriptions of her journey. She will wrap up the trip right around Labor Day in Astoria, OR, after 80+ days on the road.

In an update she sent last week, she mentioned the maps from the Adventure Cycling Association that she is using to navigate her way. The ACA site is a great place to start research if you are considering a similar trek. Earlier this summer, Erik pointed us to a cool collection of satellite photos of the trail. Other resources to help plan a bike or hike of any portion of this 4,600+ mile trail include:

Lewis & Clark's Historic Trail
Lewis & Clark Trail
Lewis & Clark Heritage Foundation
National Park Service Lewis & Clark Info
Explore the Lewis & Clark Trail
Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Commemoration
