London Bomb Suspects Photos
Not entirely travel-related, but in a way it is since all travelers must certainly be concerned by the London
bombings, and those elsewhere like Bali.
CNN and other news organizations have
posted photos of alleged bombers from the recent failed effort to once again bomb a London subway. The photo here
shows at least one of the alleged perpetrators fleeing the subway after his bomb failed to go off.
My question: why are surveillance photos such crappy quality? We live in the age of extremely cheap DV handicams and
sub-$100 megapixel cameras. Is there something about surveillance camera technology that prohibits the use of better
quality cameras? Wouldn't catching these a*sholes be easier if we could actually make out more detail of their
appearance?
Some alert tech maven help us out here. Curious minds want to know.
