Beaches in the City
Seeing how they've been trucking tons of sand into many popular European destinations in would be
quite inexcusable to not hit the beach and the city at least
once this summer. The idea came about for the overworked and underpaid city slickers that don't have the funds or
time for a vacation at a real beach. But how undeniably cool is having big buildings as your backdrops and
possibly noisy traffic for your soundtrack as you lay around catching your dose of summer sun?
USA Today's skinny on the
urban sand in the city lists Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Budapest, Rome, and Berlin to have at least one beach
along selected rivers in the area open for limited time.

I am from a tropical country but I live in Frankfurt, Germany. So, I know what you mean about how uncool it is to have these "fake" beaches. But since I am stuck here, I would have to take what I can get. Same goes for others who do hang out at these city beaches. Although, I still feel a bit sorry for myself sometimes. hahah
