Go Ice Skating While in Florida
While we are on the subject of tourists in Florida, I thought I would mention a little something that
gets under my skin. Complaining about the heat and humidity. I know when traveling the
weather can take a little gettin' use to, but please folks, if you say you're hot once then I got the picture. Saying
it 20 times doesn't make Mother Nature take it down a notch. Now it would be wrong of me to say these things and
not mention that I'm a bit of a hypocrite, because when I'm in extremely frigid weather conditions I'll tell
you 51.5 times until you start offering me some warmer suggestions. But if you see here, the key word is
suggestions.
So, as a resident of Florida and someone who is used to that nasty thing called humidity I want to offer a suggestion, an alternative and a small little day-trip to beating the heat. Ice skating. Typically when I think of ice skating I think of all those folks skating merrily around that large chilly rink in New York's Rockerfeller Center, but there are several great indoor rinks in Florida to ease some of your belly aching. You can relax indoors in full A/C, cutting the cool ice with your blade as you forget about anything relating to the sun. Grab some pop from the concessions after your skate session and just relax. It's affordable and fun. If this sounds like the thing for you, About dot com has a great list of ice skating rinks up-and-down the state of Florida to erase your heat tensions during your stay or even if you live here. Why wait for winter anyway?

I'll tell you something: it's hot in Florida this morning. Geesh, is it hot...
