How about this for innovation in the area of frequent flier mile use. Not only can you use your charge card, or dine at a restaurant to get miles for that summer vacation to Thailand, but now you can get miles when you undergo eye surgery.

This is the first time, to my knowledge that one can receive miles for surgery. It is a brave new world out there, is it not?

Here's the dealio: D.O.C Optics Corp. and Northwest Airlines offer 20,000 miles to patients who undergo laser eye surgery at D.O.C's new laser center in Royal Oak before the end of July. Folks in the know are basically saying it was bound to happen, given the state the airlines are in today where competition is fierce and new mraketing schemes are always being hatched.
