Get Over to the County Line
Three day weekends and BBQ have always been synonymous for me, and if you're not throwing
any burgers or dogs on the grill perhaps you should head over to the
County Line. That is if you're in Texas and what better state
to find BBQ than Texas? Juicy flame-broiled meats, smoked brisket, accompanied by sweet baked beans and
pleasing potato salad just make me want to get up and dance, faint back into BBQ heaven or a combination of the
two.
The County Line appears to be a chain restaurant and I've got nothing against chain restaurants so long as they've got good food. Their barbeque operations are set-up in various parts of the Lone star state and just in case you don't wanna mess with Texas, check out their Oklahoma City location.
P.S. The pigs do fly over at County Line. Can't make it there? Call 1-800-AIR-RIBS and they'll ship them to you.

I grew up knowing one of the founders of the County Line, worked there in Austin as a teen, and always tell people I know to eat there when in the state. By FAR the best barbeque I've ever had the priveledge to eat (though I am admittedly a tad biased).

Being an austinite, I will say, County Line is the best BBQ in Austin. Try the beef ribs, they are HUGE. But, outside Austin, eat at Coopers BBQ in Llano (they have a website, google it) for outstanding BBQ. You walk up and pick what meat you want directly out of a smoker outside the store, then they slice it for you. Try the BIG CHOP.
