Barbados Jazz Festival
Break out your Bermuda shorts and grab a Mai Tai because the Barbados Jazz Festival is coming. The dates are January 10 - 16, 2005 for the 12th annual celebration of foot-stamping jazz in an Caribbean island setting that couldn't be a better antidote to the frozen drudgery of winter. Headliners include Ellis Marsalis, Jason Moran, Janelle Headley and Tito de Gracia, among others. What could be better? Scuba diving by day and listening live jazz at night. Damn, sign me up.

Oh and for the outdoors types, January happens to be pretty good north swell time, check out the world class surf break "Soup Bowl" on our east coast.
